Standing together is how we win. Our power is in our unity. We’re fighting not just for ourselves – but for the future of our trade.
Brothers and Sisters,
Please be advised that the Millwright Regional Council is now in a legal strike position as of June 19th at 12:00 am. Despite our Negotiation Committee’s best efforts to reach a fair and equitable agreement, we have been unable to resolve several key issues that are critical to our members.
The outstanding issues include:
· A proposed overhaul of the name hiring process
· Wage proposals
· Travel, commuting, and board provisions
Our bargaining team has acted in good faith throughout the negotiation process. We are seeking fair and reasonable increases that reflect the settlements reached with comparable mechanical trades in recent negotiations, and we have put forward practical solutions to support this goal.
During our latest meetings with a conciliator, AMCO decided to end things and stop negotiations as of Thursday June 19@ 3pm after the union made an offer to them. AMCO’s continued refusal to address these critical issues has left us with no choice but to take strike action.
Please accept this letter as notice of strike action, effective Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. ALL Millwrights working through or under the ICI agreement and on the unemployed list will be on strike. Please reach out to your Local Business Representative to see what you can do to help during the Strike.
We remain committed to reaching a resolution and are ready to return to the bargaining table at any time to negotiate a fair agreement that reflects the value and contributions of our members.
Sincerely,
Brad Sutton
