Edmonton, Alberta. UBC Millwright Regional Council Local 1460 Alberta has been a proud supporter of the Trade Winds To Success program since 2010. Through mentorship programs and hands-on training, the union has been educating and empowering students from Indigenous communities to succeed in the millwright trade. Local 1460’s commitment to developing the next generation of millwright professionals is evident in the most recent graduation of Trade Winds students from our program.

The Trade Winds to Success program is a unique initiative that supports individuals from Indigenous communities in accessing education and professional training in millwrighting. The program provides a comprehensive education and training experience for students, including job readiness skills, training in workplace safety, and hands-on apprenticeship opportunities. The program is designed to empower and support students in building successful careers in the millwright trade, a highly specialized field.
