The Millwright Regional Council Welcomes Business Representative Jamie Harju

The Millwright Regional Council is proud to welcome Jamie Harju as a new Business Representative for UBC Millwright Local 1460 Alberta. With nearly 20 years of experience as a Millwright, Jamie has built an impressive career working on major projects such as the Shell Scotford expansion, Syncrude centrifuge plant, and the Edmonton International Airport expansion. Inspired early on by hands-on work and shows like Monster Garage, a certified CAT 2 Vibration Technician and MLT1 Oil Technician, Jamie has specialized in equipment condition monitoring and has earned recognition for excellence, including a nomination for Tradesperson of the Year by CAM Industrial Services.
Motivated by a strong sense of teamwork, accountability, and consistency, Jamie is committed to supporting members, gaining market share, and strengthening the reputation of Local 1460 across Alberta. Jamie brings both passion and practical knowledge to the role. Deeply rooted in the values of safety, training, and solidarity, Jamie credits the Union for shaping his career and mindset and now looks forward to giving back as a mentor and leader. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys hockey, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and spending time at the lake with family, who are active volunteers in Strathearn Art Walk and is part of the Edmonton Francophone community.
