The Millwright Regional Council Welcomes Business Representative Daria Blaise

Published On: January 9, 2026Categories: Press Release

The Millwright Regional Council is proud to welcome Daria Blaise as a new Business Representative for UBC Millwright Local 2182 Quebec.

Daria has more than seven years of experience as a millwright, primarily in the construction sector. A former member of Local 2182, she now returns in a renewed role, with the desire to put her commitment in the service of the members.

From a young age, she was drawn to hands-on trades and grew up in a family where political and union issues were often discussed. This environment sparked her early interest in union involvement and collective action.

Aware that she works in a field that has traditionally been male dominated, she wants to encourage interest in the trade among the next generation of women and contribute to a better understanding of the profession.

As part of her mandate, Daria intends to place particular importance on listening to members, union education, and developing the next generation – priorities that will guide her work within Local 2182.
