Steve Laur Promoted to Director of Organizing for the Millwright Regional Council

The Millwright Regional Council (MRC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Laur to Director of Organizing for the MRC. Steve has played an important role with the MRC and has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and the ability to engage and inspire members across all levels of the union.

Steve has dedicated more than 25 years to serving the Millwright Council in a wide range of roles across all sectors. In his current role as Business Manager, he provides steady guidance, strategic vision, and leads with a strong sense of unity. Steve credits the proud members of Local 1592 with shaping his career and reinforcing his commitment to principled leadership in this new challenge.

In his new role, Steve will lead the MRC’s organizing efforts, focusing on expanding union representation across Canada – strengthening contractor partnerships and ensuring more work opportunities for our members. His deep understanding of the union landscape, combined with a proven track record in growing membership and building strong industry relationships, positions him to make a significant impact in advancing the MRC’s objectives.

Steve’s commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and member-focused solutions amplifies the values of the MRC. His leadership will be instrumental in driving initiatives that protect union work, support skills development, and grow a safe, skilled workforce ready to meet the evolving needs of industry.
