2022 UBC National Apprenticeship Competition – Thunder Bay, Ontario
Thunder Bay, Ontario – The UBC proudly celebrated its 28th National Apprenticeship Competition (NAC) from May 27-28th, 2022. Hosted in partnership with Millwright Local 1151, Carpenters Local 1669, and the Canadian District Office, this event is a great opportunity to showcase the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners’ commitment to training and continued education, and to open new eyes to a career in the trades.
With a focus in 5 trades – Carpentry, Millwright, Drywall, Floor Covering, and Scaffold, the NAC is a celebration to promote the professionalism and career pathways of working in the construction trades for youth, public, government and for our own members.
Contestants are chosen and/or compete in their home council to represent their craft and locals and bring the best of the best forward to compete on a national level with their brothers and sisters. We are always proud to share how our Members are highly trained experts with the capability to work safely and efficiently in a variety of sectors.
“A special thank you to all the volunteers that have come together to make this event a great success and congratulations to each of the competing Apprentices contributing to build strong and lead the way for the next generation of skilled trade professionals.” Said Mark Beardsworth, Executive Secretary-Treasurer, Millwright Regional Council.
